Problem loans have decreased in Uzbekistan

According to the results of August 2025, the total loan portfolio of banks increased by 0.8% and amounted to 581.0 trillion soums. The share of NPLs in the sector decreased to 3.8%.

In state-owned banks, the share of NPL decreased from 4.0% to 3.8%, and in private banks — from 3.8% to 3.7%.

Among banks:

  • NBU: from 3.6% to 2.9%
  • Agrobank: from 3,7 % tо 3,4 %
  • Xalq banki: from 3,9 % to 3,7 %
  • Ipoteka bank: from 6,5 % to 6,1 %
  • Garant bank: from 14,7 % to 12,9 %
  • AVO bank: from 9,8 % to 9,2 %
  • Yangi bank: from 9,8 % tо 8,9 %

Рост NPL зафиксирован в TBC Bank (с 4,6 % до 5,2 %) и Турон банк (с 2,4 % до 4,2 %).

Context

The decrease in problem loans is a positive signal for the stability of the banking system. However, some banks still maintain high levels of NPL, which requires strengthening credit control procedures and portfolio recovery.
