What happened
- The President of Uzbekistan issued a decree on simplifying customs administration, which provides for an increase in the deferral of customs duties for businesses to 120 days and the redistribution of some customs functions.
- Part of the customs duties at individual posts is transferred to the Border Troops of the State Security Service.
- Employees of the Customs Committee are transferred to other high-volume posts.
- During passport control, border guards will inform customs authorities about violations or high risks of violating customs legislation.

- The border troops will conduct customs inspections at the “Tul” and “Sharqobod” checkpoints in the Sokh exclave.
- The buildings and equipment of these checkpoints are transferred to the border troops from the balance sheet of customs authorities.
- Six remote electronic declaration customs posts are being closed in Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Samarkand, and Bukhara regions.
- Employees of closed posts are transferred to the Customs Clearance Center or other customs posts.
Experiment
As a pilot project, border guards will inspect vehicles at six checkpoints until the end of 2026.
