Go Green Partners will engage in geological exploration in Uzbekistan

As part of his visit to the USA, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Go Green Partners co-founder Mikhail Sedym. The company will be engaged in the exploration of critical minerals in the republic.

Why is this important

Uzbekistan is strengthening its course towards attracting green investments and developing a raw material base for sustainable energy. Attracting a new international company with a profile specialization can accelerate the development of deposits.

What happened

  • Go Green Partners is an investment firm founded in 2023, specializing in the extraction and processing of critical minerals.
  • The company plans to conduct geological exploration work at promising sites in Uzbekistan.
  • The parties agreed to create a joint working group and develop a roadmap for launching projects.
  • Also in New York, Mirziyoyev met with the leaders of Traxys, FLSmidth, McKinsey, and the Colorado Mining School.
  • With Traxys, a portfolio of GPP projects worth $1 billion has been formed; FLSmidth is involved in the development of the copper industry; with McKinsey, a strategy for a deep transformation of the sector has been developed.

Context

Recently, large gas reserves have been discovered in the Ustyurt Plateau — drilled to a depth of 6.5 thousand meters. Uzbekistan is increasing investments in the exploration and processing of mineral resources, preparing state-owned companies for IPO, and working with international financial and industrial structures. Franklin Templeton, Traxys, McKinsey, and others are involved in the systemic modernization of the industry — from strategy to infrastructure.
