Why is this important
The increase in cargo flow indicates the growth of Tashkent’s foreign trade and logistics activity. This contributes to the development of supply chains, increasing the airport’s revenue, and improving the city’s status as a cargo aviation hub.
What did the numbers show
- International transportation amounted to 49.2 thousand tons;
- CIS-transportation — 10.3 thousand tons;
- Domestic transportation — 490 tons.
In international areas:
- Exports increased from 4.3 to 6.7 thousand tons;
- Import — from 26.8 to 36 thousand;
- Transit — from 43.3 to 47.3 thousand tons.
In the CIS segment:
- Export — 2.4 thousand tons;
- Import — 5,4 thousand tons;
- Transit — 2,4 thousand tons.
The terminal’s current capacity is 330 tons per day, with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons. The construction of an 8.2 thousand m cargo canopy and 1.2 thousand m refrigerated warehouses is planned for 2025-2026. In 2027-2028, a cargo warehouse will appear in Terminal-3 with an area of 16,000 square meters.
Context
The growth of cargo turnover coincides with the trend of expanding Uzbekistan’s exports and import activity. The airport is strengthening infrastructure for future volumes of cargo and value-added services. Warehouse logistics, temperature storage, and expansion projects will increase the efficiency and competitiveness of Uzbek carriers.
