The night economy is a new source of growth for cities. It can boost employment, attract tourists, and provide businesses with new incentives to operate 24/7.
What happened
- The tax cashback system will be extended to include restaurants, tourist attractions, and entertainment venues.
- Businesses will be provided with targeted loans and credit lines;
- Popular objects will be included in the “local brands” registry;
- Subsidies of up to 15 billion soums are provided for the creation of 20 new jobs;
- Training and retraining of employees — compensation up to 5 BCV (2.06 million soums) per person;
- Certification: up to $3,000 for international certificates;
- Electricity for lighting and advertising in “night” zones will be cheaper (coefficient reduced from 3 to 1.5).
Context
- The “Night Economy” forum will be held annually, with the first platform in the Mirobod district of Tashkent. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will conduct trainings and consultations for businesses. Statistics on the night economy will be introduced: income, taxes, employment, number of visitors.
