Why is this important
The complex will integrate housing, tourism, and trade, generating new jobs and altering the region’s appearance. This is part of the strategy for developing coastal zones in the Surkhandarya region.
What happened
- It is planned to build 42 residential and non-residential facilities;
- Two hotels for 250 places will be built;
- The project includes restaurants, cafes, fitness clubs, entertainment venues, round-the-clock tourist streets;
- Coastal reinforcement will be carried out, bridges and business facilities will be built;
- The ceremony of laying the foundation stone was attended by the khokim of the region, Ulugbek Kosimov.
Context
Regional authorities are actively developing river and lake banks for tourism and residential projects. “Obi hayot park” should improve the infrastructure, strengthen the economy, and enhance the attractiveness of Termez.
