Why is this important
Uzbekistan has become South Korea’s official partner for the first time in organized recruitment of personnel in the automotive industry, opening up new opportunities for employment and vocational training abroad. The project creates a direct channel for Uzbek specialists to enter the South Korean skilled labor market and forms the basis for transferring modern production skills to the country’s economy.
What happened
- South Korean company KIA Auto will attract Uzbek citizens to work on painting car bodies.
- During the migration agency head Behzod Musayev’s visit to Seoul in October, the parties agreed to open training workshops for Uzbeks according to KIA standards.
- The workshops will start operating from 2026.
- Course participants will learn car maintenance practices, safety procedures, Korean language, and culture.
Numbers and facts
- Students who successfully complete the training will be able to work in South Korea under the E-7 visa of qualified specialists.
- The study period will be 3 months, and the Korean language level must be TOPIK 1.
- Starting in 2025, foreign workers will be allowed to paint car bodies at Korean factories.
