Why is this important
The site became a pilot zone for the transport modernization of the capital. The BRT system has accelerated bus traffic, reduced accidents, and become a symbol of the transition to an intelligent transport ecosystem.
What happened
- 7 km of the section between Mirobod and Choshtepa streets was reconstructed;
- Traffic is organized in 10 lanes: 6 — for cars, 2 — for buses, 2 — for parking;
- Project cost: $19.2 million;
- Passenger traffic increased from 2.5 to 6 thousand people per hour;
- The capacity reached 40 thousand vehicles per day;
- The average speed increased from 23 to 30 km/h;
- 21 bus stops and 463 “smart” traffic lights were installed;
- An intelligent transport system has been implemented, parking lots, bicycle paths, and drainage systems have been created;
- Projects to expand the BRT network and create transport hubs around the capital were presented.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that transport development will remain a priority, especially in the context of connecting Tashkent and New Tashkent.
