Why is it important
The new route strengthens air communication within Central Asia, contributes to the development of tourism and business contacts between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This is part of President Tokayev’s strategy for strengthening regional cooperation.

- From November 10, Qazaq Air will also begin flights between Astana and Bishkek twice a week — on Mondays and Thursdays.
- The company emphasizes that direct flights between Astana, Samarkand, and Bishkek “will increase passenger convenience and support the development of business, tourism, and cultural ties”.
Context
Qazaq Air already operates under the Vietjet Qazaqstan brand after the acquisition of a strategic stake by the Samruk-Kazyna investment fund and cooperation with VietJet. In the spring of 2024, “Uzaviation” allowed airlines to fly to Uzbekistan.
Currently, there is a trend towards expanding air routes between Central Asian countries in the region.
