- The goal is to increase copper production to 500 thousand tons per year.
What they say
We will open a new factory soon. It will yield 150 thousand tons of copper. But we are not stopping there – we are also planning CEP-4, CEP-5, CEP-6, — the head of state noted.
According to him, the expansion of copper production creates new opportunities for the country and young people.
Context
Against the backdrop of global demand for copper in the context of energy transition and the growth of the electric vehicle market, Uzbekistan is systematically strengthening its role as one of the key raw material suppliers to the international market. This will also open new prospects for export and high-tech processing within the country.
