The Ministry of Agriculture has established prices for the 2025 cotton harvest

Recommended tariffs for cotton harvesting in Uzbekistan for 2025 have been set. Manual harvesting will cost 2,000 soums per kilogram, while machine harvesting will be 1,373 soums.

Why is this important

Cotton continues to be a vital crop for the country’s economy. The level of payments and subsidies directly impacts the income of farmers and seasonal workers.

What happened

The Ministry of Agriculture has approved the harvesting prices:

  • manual collection — 2000 soums/kg,
  • machine harvest — 1373 soums/kg;
  • A subsidy of 1000 soums per kilogram will be provided from the budget to cover production costs.
  • The price can also be set by agreement between clusters, farmers, and harvesters;
  • Payments are valid for the entire 2025 harvest period.

What they say

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that the purpose of the new tariffs is to support farmers and incentivize them to conduct the harvest effectively.

Context

In recent years, Uzbekistan has been steadily mechanising cotton harvesting, but manual labour still remains in demand. The state continues to provide cost subsidies to ease the burden on producers and preserve the industry’s competitiveness.
