Why is this important
This is the largest investment package in the history of Uzbek-American relations. It covers key sectors of the economy and can dramatically accelerate industrial modernization, energy development, and the country’s digital transformation.
What happened
- In New York, negotiations were held with representatives of leading US companies;
- A package of agreements and projects worth more than $100 billion has been formed;
- A joint coordination committee is being created to accelerate implementation;
- In focus — aviation, mining, chemistry, energy, finance, innovation;
- The US Eximbank and DFC can be involved in the projects.
Context
DFC and the US Eximbank already have projects in the region — from energy to agribusiness. Uzbekistan has been strengthening its partnership with the US since 2023, including agreements on critical minerals and GPC. The creation of a coordinating committee can serve as a model for other CA countries.
