Uzbekistan is consistently increasing its gold reserves, strengthening its financial stability amid fluctuations in global markets. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In August, global central banks purchased around <strong>15 tons of gold<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kazakhstan<\/strong> became the leader in terms of procurement volume \u2014 8 tons.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Uzbekistan<\/strong>, <strong>Bulgaria<\/strong>, <strong>China<\/strong>, and <strong>Turkey<\/strong> purchased 2 tons each.<\/li>\n<li>The sellers were the <strong>Central Bank of Russia<\/strong> (3 tons) and the <strong>Bank of Indonesia<\/strong> (2 tons).<\/li>\n<li>The WGC noted that the rise in global gold prices limits the volume of purchases, but central banks&#8217; interest in the precious metal remains high.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What they say<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The recent slowdown in purchases does not mean a loss of interest in gold. Central banks continue to view it as a strategic asset, \u2014 WGC analysts note.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In June, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan purchased <strong>11.1 tons of gold<\/strong>, which was the largest purchase in recent years.
