The story of Air Samarkand is a case of how operational miscalculations and exaggerated expansion rates turn growth into scalable losses. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2024, the loss amounted to <strong>182 billion soums<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ihamkor.uz\/ru\/subject\/2bea876a9b8e1ed045a6433665f46235\">according to<\/a> open sources.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>company&#8217;s gross<\/strong> margin is <strong>minus 12.3%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Ministry of Labor <a href=\"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/the-ministry-of-labor-is-demanding-that-air-samarkand-pay-1-5-billion-soums-in-wage-arrears\/\">filed<\/a> a lawsuit with the Samarqand court for <strong>1.5 billion soums<\/strong> for delays in the payment of salaries to <strong>464 employees<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/air-samarkand-explained-the-salary-delays-by-unscheduled-repairs-to-the-fleet\/\">confirmed<\/a> its debts on payments, citing delays from counterparties.<\/li>\n<li> <strong>From October 13<\/strong>, flights to Istanbul will be <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/AirSamarkandAirlines\/194\">suspended<\/a>. The refund for tickets after this date is promised in full. <\/li>\n<li>Flights are scheduled to resume in the spring of 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Samarkand is one of the last private air carriers in the Uzbekistan market after the departure of Humo Air and the failures of Panorama Airways.
