The digitalization of seismic monitoring and integration with \u201cTransparent Construction\u201d will increase the safety of new facilities and help identify vulnerable buildings. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting from January 2026, medium- and long-term seismic activity forecasting using AI will be launched, starting from Tashkent;<\/li>\n<li>From March 2026, the AI will analyze the technical condition of buildings for seismic resistance;<\/li>\n<li>From January 1, seismic resistance monitoring will begin at cultural heritage sites \u2014 Registan, Ark, Ichan-Kala;<\/li>\n<li>From March 1, online monitoring of the seismic resistance of bridges, tunnels, and transport facilities is being introduced;<\/li>\n<li>An online seismological platform with integration into the \u201cTransparent Construction\u201d system is being launched.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Digital seismological platform<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The platform will contain:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regional accelerogram bases of possible earthquakes;<\/li>\n<li>Seismic zoning and microzoning maps in macroseismic scores;<\/li>\n<li>Maps of active tectonic faults;<\/li>\n<li>Data for designing new buildings in seismically active zones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New buildings and structures will be designed taking into account seismological indicators, which will become the basis for urban planning expertise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitoring and control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct observations at cultural heritage sites through the Cultural Heritage Agency platform, and at transport facilities \u2014 through the TransportSeysmika service.<\/p>\n<p>In the mountainous sections of the A-373 and M-39 highways, \u201cUzbekcosmos\u201d is organizing constant radar space monitoring of landslide-prone areas. Data will be transferred to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, geological, transport, and meteorological services. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan is in a zone of increased seismic activity. The devastating earthquakes in the history of the country, including the 1966 Tashkent earthquake, emphasize the need for modern forecasting and monitoring systems. <\/p>\n<p>Using AI to analyze big data on seismic activity is an advanced practice used by Japan, the USA, and other countries. Machine learning algorithms can identify patterns in seismic station data and predict areas with increased risk. <\/p>\n<p>The integration of the seismological platform with \u201cTransparent Construction\u201d will allow for the automatic verification of projects for compliance with seismic standards even at the approval stage. Monitoring of cultural sites (Registan, Ark, Ichan-Kala) is important for preserving the heritage and the safety of tourists. <\/p>\n<p>Developing engineering and geological indicators for underground structures up to 30 meters deep is crucial for the metro, underground parking lots, and tunnels being built in the capital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a set of measures to strengthen seismic safety, including earthquake prediction using artificial intelligence.
