The proposed measures are aimed at reducing farmers&#8217; dependence on loans, accelerating their repayment, expanding the renewal of agricultural machinery, and further saving budget resources through a more targeted subsidy system. <\/p>\n<h3>What happened<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Shavkat Mirziyoyev got <a href=\"https:\/\/president.uz\/ru\/lists\/view\/8759\">acquainted<\/a> with the presentation of the new system of financing and subsidizing the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan.<\/li>\n<li>Since the beginning of the year, 29 trillion soums have been allocated to finance cotton and grain farming, purchase agricultural machinery, and implement water-saving technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Additionally, 2.35 trillion soums in subsidies were allocated to the sector.<\/li>\n<li>In 2026, it is planned to allocate 34.2 trillion soums in subsidies and resources for cotton and grain producers.<\/li>\n<li>In addition, $200 million is planned to be attracted for the purchase of 800 cotton harvesters.<\/li>\n<li>It is proposed to allocate 5 trillion soums for agrotechnical measures, including the costs of film and hoses.<\/li>\n<li>The possibility of additional savings of 2.5-3 trillion soums is being considered through subsidizing 5% of the value of the sold cotton, provided that the farmer uses 50% of the credit limit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Numbers and facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Thanks to subsidies of 10% of the cost of cotton, 3.4 thousand farms and clusters cultivated cotton on 151 thousand hectares at their own expense, which saved 1.9 trillion soums of resources.<\/li>\n<li>About 9 thousand farmers have repaid 2.5 trillion soums in preferential loans for cotton cultivation ahead of schedule.<\/li>\n<li>The acceleration of loan repayment is ensured by reimbursing part of the interest on loans when they are repaid within the year introduced in August.<\/li>\n<li>Businesses with a credit rating of \u201cA\u201d will be able to receive loans at a rate 2% lower than the general rate, and those with a credit rating of \u201cB\u201d \u2014 at a rate 1% lower than the general rate.<\/li>\n<li>Farmers who grow wheat at their own expense will be provided with a subsidy of 10% of the harvest value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Context<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In Uzbekistan, the reform of the agricultural sector financing system continues, with a focus on reducing the credit burden, developing clusters, introducing water-saving technologies, and stimulating the self-financing of farms.<\/li>\n<li>The state is gradually moving away from the direct budgetary content of the industry and is transitioning to a model based on market mechanisms, lending, subsidies, and stimulating the independence of farmers.<\/li>\n<li>Special emphasis is placed on increasing the profitability of cotton and grain farming, reducing debt burden, and rational use of water resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 34 trillion soums will be allocated to support cotton and grain in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":13661,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sharing_image":{"poster":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6939bb9b53404.jpg","width":1200,"height":630,"template":"2bf59057","mode":"auto"},"_sharing_image_fieldset":{"Dv78f24rp1hU":13661,"YlB8HH34jIzY":"Subsidies, machinery, and loans: how will agricultural financing change?"},"pin_until":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[2061],"tags":[2119,2631,2118,3045],"class_list":["post-13718","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","tag-agriculture","tag-benefits","tag-economics","tag-subsidies"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v25.0 (Yoast SEO v25.9) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Subsidies, machinery, and loans: how will agricultural financing change?
