The first round of negotiations was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan with experts from the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate General for Internal Affairs and Migration, the Dunyo Foreign Ministry <a href=\"https:\/\/dunyo.info\/ru\/Novosti-MID\/uzbekistan-i-es-nachali-peregovory-po-uproshcheniyu-vizovogo-poryadka-dlya\">reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"320\" data-end=\"919\">The possibility of simplifying visa procedures for Uzbek citizens entering EU countries for work, training, truck drivers, and organized tourist groups was discussed. The European Union has outlined the necessary conditions for bringing this issue to the level of the European Commission. The parties agreed to continue the consultations.  <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"943\">Why is this important<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1260\">Easing the visa regime with the EU can significantly facilitate the mobility of Uzbek citizens, reduce administrative barriers for business, logistics, education, and tourism. For the country, this is also a step towards deepening political and economic dialogue with the European Union and increasing confidence from European institutions. <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1281\">Numbers and facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1371\">The negotiations are at the initial stage and are taking place in the form of expert consultations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1485\">Categories are considered: labor migrants, students, truck drivers, and tourist groups.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1554\">To advance the issue, the EU has put forward several preliminary conditions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1602\">Further consultations are planned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1618\">Context<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1986\">In November, EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Claar, stated that the discussion of visa easing is possible in the future and will be gradual. According to him, the key factor will be the conscientious observance by Uzbek citizens of visa rules and the duration of stay in EU countries.
