The doubling of solar and wind generation indicates the acceleration of energy transition and the diversification of electricity sources. At the same time, reducing the gap between production and actual supply indicates an increase in the efficiency of electricity distribution.  <\/p>\n<h3>What happened<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In Uzbekistan, electricity production <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/minenergy_uz\/18768\">increased<\/a> by 6.38% in 2025 \u2014 from 81.5 billion to 86.7 billion kWh.<\/li>\n<li>Electricity supply to consumers increased by 14% and exceeded 77 billion kWh.<\/li>\n<li>The difference between production volume and supply decreased from 14 billion to 9.6 billion kWh, which is about 11% of the total generation volume.<\/li>\n<li>Electricity generation by solar and wind power plants increased 2.1 times and exceeded 10.5 billion kWh for the first time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Numbers and facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The total volume of \u201cgreen\u201d generation, including hydropower, reached 16.8 billion kWh, which is 29% more than the previous year, and the share of photo, wind, and hydroelectric power plants accounted for about 20% of the country&#8217;s total electricity generation.<\/li>\n<li>The number of consumers among the population increased to 8.21 million people, which is 3.2% more, while the number of consumers among businesses reached 519.7 thousand legal entities with a growth of 7.4%.<\/li>\n<li>Thanks to the use of renewable energy sources, 3.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas were saved and 4.7 million tons of harmful substances were prevented from being released into the atmosphere.<\/li>\n<li>In 2025, 42 energy projects with a total capacity of 4,647 MW, including solar, wind, battery, thermal, and cogeneration facilities, were commissioned.<\/li>\n<li>Construction work has begun on another 21 projects with a total capacity of 3,508 MW, and major repairs and modernization of thousands of kilometers of electricity and gas networks have been carried out.<\/li>\n<li>As a result of the modernization of the energy system, the electricity supply to more than 800 thousand households in 954 mahallas has improved, and as part of energy savings, 2.7 billion kWh of electricity and 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been saved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Context<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing the share of renewable generation reduces the energy system&#8217;s dependence on fossil fuels and increases its environmental sustainability.<\/li>\n<li>Large-scale construction and modernization of infrastructure create a basis for further consumption growth without a sharp increase in network load.<\/li>\n<li>For the economy, this means more stable energy supply and reduced fuel costs.<\/li>\n<li>These measures are aimed at covering the growing demand from the population and businesses and reducing losses in the electricity sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the results of 2025, production exceeded 10.5 billion kWh for the first time, and the share of \u201cgreen\u201d energy reached about 20%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":14741,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":true,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sharing_image":{"poster":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/695ab378ee4df.jpg","width":1200,"height":630,"template":"2bf59057","mode":"auto"},"_sharing_image_fieldset":{"Dv78f24rp1hU":14741,"YlB8HH34jIzY":"Solar and wind power generation in Uzbekistan increased by 2.1 times"},"pin_until":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[2061],"tags":[3417,2299],"class_list":["post-14755","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","tag-electrical-energy","tag-gas-supply"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v25.0 (Yoast SEO v25.9) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Solar and wind power generation in Uzbekistan increased by 2.1 times &#8212;
