At the same time, this sends a signal to the market about the need to strengthen transaction verification and move away from simplified accounting mechanisms.  <\/p>\n<h3>What happened<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bybit crypto exchange identified and <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/RBCCrypto\/21975\">blocked<\/a> a series of attacks using \u201cfake deposits\u201d aimed at bypassing its fund accounting system.<\/li>\n<li>The perpetrators attempted to create the illusion of assets being credited through complex transaction schemes, including batch operations and changes in address ownership.<\/li>\n<li>The exchange prevented potential losses exceeding 1 billion DOT (approximately $1.3 billion) and noted the similarity of these attacks to previously known vulnerabilities in the crypto market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Numbers and facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The volume of prevented losses is estimated at over 1 billion DOT, equivalent to approximately $1.3 billion.<\/li>\n<li>One of the schemes involved batch transactions, where small transfers were confirmed while larger ones failed, creating a false impression of a complete deposit.<\/li>\n<li>Another scenario included multi-stage operations with changes in address ownership, forming the appearance of incoming funds without an actual balance.<\/li>\n<li>Bybit compared the identified <em>schemes with <\/em>the vulnerabilities of Mt.
