The rejection of AI-80 aims to enhance fuel quality, cut harmful emissions, and support the country&#8217;s environmental policy. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The sale of AI-80 petrol via exchange trading has been suspended.<\/li>\n<li>AI-92 sales volume has risen \u2014 from 1,000 to 1,720 tonnes per day.<\/li>\n<li>The AI-80 bought earlier will be delivered entirely.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What they say<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The decision aligns with the presidential directives and state programmes, which plan for the gradual phasing out of low-octane fuels and the transition to higher quality and more environmentally friendly fuels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As early as summer, \u201cUzbekneftegaz\u201d announced a complete cessation of AI-80 production from September 2025: plans include delivering the remaining stock by the end of the year and producing only AI-92 and AI-95 petrol from 2026. The modernisation projects at the Bukhara Oil Refinery (in collaboration with CNPC and the French company Axens) involve switching to high-octane fuels and meeting the Euro-5 standard.
