Selecting locations with logistical convenience enhances transport connectivity and regional infrastructure. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Land for the airport \u2014 1309.76 hectares, in the Urta Chirchik (790.76 hectares) and Kuyi Chirchik (519 hectares) districts.<\/li>\n<li>Land composition: irrigated \u2014 1075.45 ha, orchards \u2014 112.69 ha, pastures \u2014 0.65 ha, others \u2014 120.97 ha;<\/li>\n<li>The president made the decision to begin construction on the new site in August 2025.<\/li>\n<li>The airport will be situated near the Tashkent\u2014Samarkand road, 17 km south of the current terminal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The current Tashkent airport, situated within the city boundaries, has limited scope for expansion. The new airport will be part of a comprehensive infrastructure renewal plan, which also encompasses international airports in Bukhara and Urgench.
