This affects import prices and inflation expectations within the country. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banks sell dollars at <strong>12,510-12,580 soums<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum exchange rate \u2014 in Tenge Bank (12,480);<\/li>\n<li>Purchase rate: from <strong>12,375 soums<\/strong> (minimum) to <strong>12,435 soums<\/strong> (Asia Alliance Bank, BRB);<\/li>\n<li>The euro and pound have reached new highs since mid-August.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of September, the dollar remained below 12.4 thousand soums. A sharp increase in one day is the first in the last two weeks.
