{"id":8515,"date":"2025-09-08T18:49:41","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/the-first-wind-power-plant-in-central-asia-with-energy-storage-will-be-constructed-in-karakalpakstan\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T18:49:41","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:49:41","slug":"the-first-wind-power-plant-in-central-asia-with-energy-storage-will-be-constructed-in-karakalpakstan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/the-first-wind-power-plant-in-central-asia-with-energy-storage-will-be-constructed-in-karakalpakstan\/","title":{"rendered":"The first wind power plant in Central Asia with energy storage will be constructed in Karakalpakstan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong data-start=\"404\" data-end=\"425\">Why is this important<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project combines renewable energy generation and energy storage \u2014 this will reduce the risks of disruptions, increase the reliability of energy supply, and help Uzbekistan achieve the target of 54% &#8220;green&#8221; energy in the energy balance by 2030.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"666\"><strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"664\">What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"780\">in the Karauzyak district of Karakalpakstan, a <strong data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"777\">200 MW<\/strong> wind power plant and a <strong data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"741\">100 MW<\/strong> storage system will be built;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"780\">expected generation &#8211; <strong data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"831\">727.9 thousand<\/strong>. MW\u00b7h per year, emission reduction &#8211; <strong data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"878\">406.1 thousand tons of CO2;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"960\">more than <strong data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"910\">200 jobs will appear <\/strong>at the construction and operation stage;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1113\">A <strong data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"999\">$51 million loan package <\/strong>was signed in Tashkent: 25.4 million from ADB resources and 25.4 million from Leading Asia&#8217;s Private Infrastructure Fund;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1194\">AIIB, FMO, Standard Chartered and Saudi EXIM also participate in financing;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1287\">The ADB provided a <strong data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1255\">$7.5 million<\/strong> loan guarantee to reduce risks and tariffs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1503\"><strong data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1501\">Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1503\">Uzbekistan plans to increase the capacity of renewable energy sources to <strong data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1573\">25 GW by 2030<\/strong> and reduce the carbon intensity of the economy by 35%. CWA Power is already implementing a number of solar and wind parks in Uzbekistan, including major projects in Bukhara and Navoi.
