{"id":8516,"date":"2025-09-08T17:34:29","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T12:34:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/uzbekistan-will-no-longer-auction-off-beatiful-number-plates\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T17:34:29","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T12:34:29","slug":"uzbekistan-will-no-longer-auction-off-beatiful-number-plates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/uzbekistan-will-no-longer-auction-off-beatiful-number-plates\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan will no longer auction off \u201cbeatiful\u201d number plates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Why is this important<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The reform makes the process of obtaining &#8220;prestigious&#8221; license plates transparent, simplifies access for car owners, and eliminates corruption risks associated with auctions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting October 1, 2025, auctions for the sale of beautiful numbers through UzEX will be discontinued.<\/li>\n<li>1-3 category license plates will be issued at an increased rate through Uzavtomotobelgi.<\/li>\n<li>the numbers of the 4th-6th categories will remain in the same order without a bonus.<\/li>\n<li>From January 1, 2026, auctions and the sale of rooms at increased tariffs will be completely abolished.<\/li>\n<li>a unified database of free combinations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs &#8211; access through infokiosks, the mobile application of the SBU, the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the portal of state services &#8211; is being launched.<\/li>\n<li>within the territorial code, &#8220;prestigious&#8221; numbers will be available only when 90% of combinations are occupied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Auctions for the sale of &#8220;beautiful&#8221; numbers through UzEx have been operating since 2017. The system was often criticized for its opacity and limited access.
