{"id":8675,"date":"2025-09-10T13:33:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T08:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/uzbekistan-will-implement-a-12-year-school-education-system\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T13:33:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T08:33:18","slug":"uzbekistan-will-implement-a-12-year-school-education-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/bez-kategorii\/uzbekistan-will-implement-a-12-year-school-education-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan will implement a 12-year school education system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Why is this important<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The reform will align the system with international standards, streamline the admission process for graduates to foreign universities, and remove the necessity of one-year preparatory courses abroad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a preparatory class for children aged 6 will be included in the programme;<\/li>\n<li>training structure: 1 year of preparation + 4 years of primary school, 5 years of basic secondary (5-9 grades), 2 years of general secondary (10-11 grades);<\/li>\n<li>graduates will be able to directly apply for bachelor&#8217;s programs abroad;<\/li>\n<li>annually, about 15 thousand graduates are forced to study additionally due to the discrepancy between the terms of study;<\/li>\n<li>in 85% of countries with high PISA-2022 results, school education lasts 12 years;<\/li>\n<li>amendments will be made to the laws \u201cOn Education\u201d and \u201cOn Preschool Education and Upbringing\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently, the school system in Uzbekistan lasts 11 years.
