{"id":8683,"date":"2025-09-10T14:02:04","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T09:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/uzbekistan-aims-to-increase-the-minimum-retirement-age\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T14:02:04","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T09:02:04","slug":"uzbekistan-aims-to-increase-the-minimum-retirement-age","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/uzbekistan-aims-to-increase-the-minimum-retirement-age\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan aims to increase the minimum retirement age"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"329\" data-end=\"474\"><strong data-start=\"329\" data-end=\"350\">Why this is important:<\/strong><br data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"353\">The rise in life expectancy and the financial strain on the Pension Fund make reform essential to ensure the sustainability of payments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"496\"><strong data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"494\">What happened:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"1174\">\n<li data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"702\">\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"702\">the draft pension reform proposes to gradually raise the retirement age: men \u2014 from 60 to 63 years, women \u2014 from 55 to 58 years, adding six months annually;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"830\">\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"830\">a mitigated option is being considered: three months a year \u2014 the reform will be extended to twelve years;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"996\">\n<p data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"996\">The IMF recommends such changes, as well as automatic pension indexation, revision of calculation methods and pension contributions;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1174\">\n<p data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1174\">the pension fund emphasized that the final decision has not yet been made \u2014 the proposal is at the stage of public discussion and analysis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1622\"><strong data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1620\">Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"2017\">\n<li data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"1763\">\n<p data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1763\">The reform concept has been tasked with developing in 2025, and is planned to be presented to the president by September.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"2017\">\n<p data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"2017\">In recent years, Pension Fund revenues have been increasing, but expenditures are growing faster &#8211;
