{"id":8959,"date":"2025-09-14T10:06:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T05:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/cb-can-alter-the-limit-on-the-number-of-bank-cards-a-client-holds\/"},"modified":"2025-09-14T10:06:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T05:06:28","slug":"cb-can-alter-the-limit-on-the-number-of-bank-cards-a-client-holds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/cb-can-alter-the-limit-on-the-number-of-bank-cards-a-client-holds\/","title":{"rendered":"CB can alter the limit on the number of bank cards a client holds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Why is this important<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A limit on the number of bank cards was introduced as an anti-fraud measure, but now the regulator is ready to adapt the rules to reality: most clients do not face restrictions, and the new measures will enhance digital protection and convenience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key facts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From January 2025, a limit is in effect: up <strong>to 5 cards in one bank<\/strong> and up <strong>to 20 \u2014 in all banks<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>97%<\/strong> of clients fit the limit;<\/li>\n<li>Only <strong>0.03%<\/strong> (7 thousand people) have more than 20 cards;<\/li>\n<li>Often, such cards are used in fraudulent schemes \u2014 sometimes without the owners&#8217; knowledge;<\/li>\n<li>The Central Bank is considering the possibility of <strong>closing unused cards online<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Limit easing is being discussed \u2014 while maintaining protection against abuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mass issuance of bank cards has become a tool for shadow schemes: in 2024, the Central Bank recorded cases where dozens of cards were issued per client, which were used in fraudulent operations. New rules were introduced at the beginning of 2025.
