Uzbekistan is strengthening trade ties and becoming an important regional food supplier. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2024, Uzbekistan exported 1.2 million tons of flour to Afghanistan at an average price of $273 tons, Kazakhstan \u2014 1.1 million tons at $265 per ton; Russia \u2014 237 thousand at $209 per ton.<\/li>\n<li>In January-June 2025, deliveries from Uzbekistan amounted to <strong>691 thousand tons<\/strong>, from Kazakhstan \u2014 <strong>537 thousand tons<\/strong>; Russia \u2014 only about 14 thousand tons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What they say<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Analyst Marina Sidak stated that Uzbekistan has \u201cconfidently taken a leading position\u201d in the market for wheat flour supplies to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>It is noted that Uzbek flour prices are slightly higher than competitors&#8217; prices, which may be a consequence of transportation costs, product quality, or trading conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Flour is a key import commodity for Afghanistan, where domestic production does not meet demand.
