Strengthening the regulation of the market for breast milk substitutes reflects the course towards improving children&#8217;s health in Uzbekistan. The tightening of standards will affect producers and importers of baby food.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On September 19, the president reviewed the report on improving the healthcare system.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The draft National Program for Supporting Breastfeeding<\/strong> until 2030 has been approved.<\/li>\n<li>It is proposed to limit the <strong>advertising of breast milk<\/strong> substitutes through legislative amendments.<\/li>\n<li>\u0411\u0443\u0434\u0443\u0442 \u0443\u0436\u0435\u0441\u0442\u043e\u0447\u0435\u043d\u044b <strong>\u0441\u0442\u0430\u043d\u0434\u0430\u0440\u0442\u044b \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0438\u0437\u0432\u043e\u0434\u0441\u0442\u0432\u0430, \u0445\u0440\u0430\u043d\u0435\u043d\u0438\u044f, \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0434\u0430\u0436\u0438 \u0438 \u0438\u043c\u043f\u043e\u0440\u0442\u0430<\/strong> \u0434\u0435\u0442\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0445 \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0434\u0443\u043a\u0442\u043e\u0432.<\/li>\n<li>WHO and UNICEF initiatives are being implemented: \u201c10 steps towards successful breastfeeding\u201d and others.<\/li>\n<li>Medical personnel will be trained on breastfeeding support topics.<\/li>\n<li>Informational programs are planned for pregnant and breastfeeding women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WHO recommends that at least <strong>70% of children under 6 months<\/strong> of age be exclusively breastfed \u2014 in Uzbekistan, this figure is still lower.
