Understanding price increases leaders is important for a targeted stabilization policy. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The consumer price index (CPI) for August increased by <strong>0.4%<\/strong> over the month, and by <strong>8.8%<\/strong> year-on-year.<\/li>\n<li>Food products rose by <strong>0.6%<\/strong> (annual growth \u2014 6.7%), non-food items by <strong>0.3%<\/strong> (+6.6%), and services by <strong>+0.3%<\/strong> over the month, with an annual increase of <strong>16.2%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What&#8217;s the most expensive in a year:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Products: carrots (+69.1%), cabbage (+46.5%), onions (+40.1%), potatoes (+32%), lamb (+28.5%), cottonseed oil (+39.4%).<\/li>\n<li>Non-food goods: rings \u2014 +33.2%, methane \u2014 +31%.<\/li>\n<li>Services: driving schools \u2014 +71.3%; domestic air transportation \u2014 +59.5%; utilities, cold water, garbage collection, and kindergartens also saw significant increases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Without taking into account fruit and vegetable products, annual inflation is slightly higher \u2014 about <strong>9.6%<\/strong>. Price growth is different in the regions: Fergana region \u2014 9.7% of annual inflation. <\/p>\n<p>The previous year&#8217;s inflation rate was higher \u2014 around 10.5%.
