{"id":9754,"date":"2025-09-23T17:56:19","date_gmt":"2025-09-23T12:56:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/bez-kategorii\/azerbaijans-investments-in-uzbekistan-have-fallen-by-almost-three-times\/"},"modified":"2025-09-23T17:56:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-23T12:56:19","slug":"azerbaijans-investments-in-uzbekistan-have-fallen-by-almost-three-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frank.uz\/en\/news-en\/azerbaijans-investments-in-uzbekistan-have-fallen-by-almost-three-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Azerbaijan&#8217;s investments in Uzbekistan have fallen by almost three times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Why is this important<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The decrease in investments may signal a weakening of economic cooperation between countries, the sensitivity of Azerbaijani investors to conditions, risks, or returns, and a shift in investment priorities for Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happened<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In January-June 2025, Azerbaijan directed <strong>$21.4 million<\/strong> in direct investments to Uzbekistan.<\/li>\n<li>This is <strong>$45.9 million<\/strong> less than in January-June 2024 (then \u2014 $67.4 million).<\/li>\n<li>Uzbekistan&#8217;s share in the total volume of foreign investments of Azerbaijan amounted to <strong>1.6%<\/strong>, and the republic ranks <strong>10th<\/strong> among recipient countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the same period, Azerbaijan received over <strong>$3.2 billion<\/strong> in foreign investments (an 8.2% increase year-on-year).
