Context
The last census in Uzbekistan was conducted during the Soviet era — in 1989. Initially, the new census was planned for 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic and organizational reasons. For the first time in history, the census will be partially conducted in a digital format, with the possibility of online participation through the portal.
