High-speed electric trains will be introduced from Tashkent to all districts of the Tashkent region

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered all districts of Tashkent region to be connected with Tashkent via high-speed suburban electric trains, which should boost the mobility of residents and encourage the development of new housing and infrastructure.

Why is this important

Access to work from districts will increase, allowing people to travel to the city daily. This will reduce the housing burden in the capital and save time. Related markets such as housing, transport, services, and trade along routes will develop. Projects for laying roads, renewing rolling stock, and infrastructure will create investment opportunities and jobs.

  • On the Tashkent—Khojikent route, a modern EP3D electric train manufactured by Transmashholding has been operating since 3 December 2024, with a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a capacity of 586 passengers. Ticket price — 20,000 soums.
  • “Uzbekistan Railways” announced plans to purchase 10 modern trains. Regular electric trains will continue to operate according to the current schedule.

Representatives of “Uzbekistan Railways” and the Ministry of Transport said that the new trains and infrastructure upgrades will provide more frequent and convenient services.
